This folder contains two files.

1) AlphaHeads: a pseudo-alphabetical listing of heads of families contained

in Kinsmen. It is more or less an index of the families I have found.

Legend for Alphaheads:
Col A=My Reference # Col D=Given Name
Col B=Census Page and house # Col E=AgeCol F=Census year
		Col C=Surname Col G=App. Year born [F-E)
								Col H=Notes

2) Kinsmen: it should be used more than any other for census material. It contains

the important information contained in the miscellaneous and spreadsheet files.

What follows is a description of my shorthand for the entries.

NOTE: THOSE GROUPED TOGETHER ARE THOSE I THINK ARE IN THE SAME FAMILY. THOSE WITH AT

LEAST ONE BLANK LINE BETWEEN THEM ARE THOSE I THINK ARE IN DIFFERENT FAMILIES OR

I JUST DONT KNOW!!!!!

   As an example:

1900-80-183=HEINRICH (listed as Heinrichs): Joseph(1819) [ID=Aust 1860] &
     Anna(1841) [{5-5} ID=Aust 1860] + Ferdinand(1871) + Carolina
     Kainer(1887) [servant] + Joseph Roeder(1880) [ID=Aust 1900. Listed
     as Reder. Laborer]. [Fay 8-4343]

indicates census year 1900, page #80

house visited=183, then surname(spelling), : Given name(app. year of birth)

"ID=" = Immigrated from Austria in 1860,

"&" signifies wife,

"{5-5}" signifies had 5 children and all 5 survive on the date,

"+ " signifies children at home + others in household

"[Fay 8-4343]" signifies Fayette County precinct 8
with -4343 meaning my reference # to spreadsheet.

I realize that this form of entry may be confusing to most people (after

working on it for years, I sometimes still confuse myself), but I'm hesitant to

put it in prose form -- I AM NOT A WRITER.

Anyway, I hope it informs, amuses, bemuses, or entertains the reader. If it

does, I'm glad it helped. It it doesn't, I'm sorry I wasted your time with it.
